Here are a few more views from the castle. / Hier sind noch ein paar Blicke vom Burgberg.

Forest in Fall / Herbstwald

In my mind, that’s an awesome view any time. I like how the hills just stop at the northern bank of the river. I like the river from any perspective any time. The fertile plain to the south is a great contrast to the hills.

Diese Aussicht ist einfach immer beeindruckend. Mir gefällt wie die Hügel am nördlichen Ufer einfach aufhören. Den Fluss finde ich immer und aus jeder Perspektive faszinierend. Die fruchtbare Ebene im Süden ist ein toller Kontrast zu den Hügeln.

There is a reason people get angry when rivers are channelled too much. It increases the risks of floods and is the end of beautiful riverscapes like this one.

Hier kann man ahnen, wie eine unbegradigte, unkanalisierte Flusslandschaft aussehen würde.

On a summer day this would be the most impressive view. But in November, there isn’t enough light to make out the city clearly. I think the hazy view has its charm anyway. Until I looked at this photo, I wasn’t aware I could see my neighbourhood. It is about as far away as the cathedral, but on the far right of the photo.

An einem Sommertag ist das die beeindruckenste Aussicht. Aber im November reicht das Licht nicht aus, um bis zur Stadt zu sehen. Ich finde allerdings, dass dieses Foto auch mit dem Dunst seinen Charme hat. Mir war nicht klar, dass ich vom Burgberg fast bis nach Hause schauen kann. Es ist etwa so weit weg wie der Dom, aber ganz rechts am Bildrand.
