The nativity scene decorates a private building, while Virign Mary statues are common, this is definitely unusual.

Es gibt auch im Winter sonnige Stunden.
But mostly my home town looks gloomy
Aber meistens ist es hier trüb und finster
and drained of colours from November to February.
als würde von November bis Februar an Farben gespart.
Such moments are worth roaming the city on icy days.
Für solche Momente lohnt es sich dann, an eisigen Tagen durch die Stadt zu laufen.
Photographically I had a bad week. First I lost one of my lens covers, I suspect if fell out of my jacket pocket somewhere along the way and today I couldn’t take pictures, because I the memory card was still in the computer when I reached the place I wanted to take pictures of. Short daylight hours, plenty of clouds and freezing temps don’t help either.
Little splashes of colours like the one shown above in the winter gloom that looks like the photo below keep my spirits up.
Fotografisch hatte ich eine Pleitenwoche. Erst ist mir irgendwo unterwegs ein Objektivschutz aus der Jackentasche gefallen und heute konnte ich nicht fotografieren, weil die Speicherkarte noch im Computer steckte als ich beim Motiv ankam. Der Mangel an Tageslicht und die Kälte machen’s nicht besser.
Aber so kleine Farbtupfer wie oben in einem Winter wie unten, bauen mich wieder auf.
